We have come to the third and final part of the interview with Ennio Capozza, owner of Viaggi Caribe, who explains the differences between a Dominican Republic vacation proposed by them and those organized by traditional tour operators
After talking about the places and places to visit during your Dominican Republic vacation and safety on the island, here is the third and final part of the interview. The owner of the outbound and inbound tour operator, licensed by the Dominican Republic’s Ministry of Tourism, was keen to point out the difference between a trip organized with and by Viaggi Caribe and those done through traditional Italian tour operators.
They also talk about why choosing their company is the right one to experience a dream trip tailored to each individual visitor’s needs, expectations and desire for unforgettable experiences.
What are the differences between Viaggi Caribe and the major Italian tour operators and why should a client/visitor turn to you to have an unforgettable travel experience in the Dominican Republic?
“Other generic Italian tour operators sell the “usual” trip “packaged” inside a village and everything revolves around that. Clear is that it all looks beautiful because you admire the white beach, the palm trees, the crystal blue sea, because anyway the villages are placed in strategic places.
Resorts in the Dominican Republic are located in only three places such as Punta Cana, Bayahibe, and a few in Boca Chica.
Between traveler and tourist there is a gulf. They show you a village that is the same in the Dominican Republic as it is in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Jamaica or other places.
“Our trips are tailor-made and organized down to the smallest detail, they are “tailor made.” The client tells us what his expectations are, and we “tailor” him, just like a tailor who makes a suit according to his needs and requests. We let the people we interface with tell us about their passions, tastes, and priorities, and then bring the client’s “dream” to life, building a journey exclusively tailored for them. We, in order to understand what a visitor specifically wants, first try to do seven to eight private interviews and from time to time modify and improve the itinerary and various travel plans.
When they ask us for a tour of only seven days, we don’t agree to it and refer them somewhere else. We first ask for their orientation in terms of time and affordability, after which we get them to tell us their passions, what they prefer to do and see, and at that point we tailor-build the trip for them.”
What experiences can you have with Caribe Journeys that other tour operators will never let you have?
“I think I am the only tour operator in the Dominican Republic that offers this service, besides the local tour operators. The generic Italian ones sell by catalog. We, on the other hand, sell experience. Like us, maybe there will be someone else who offers the same service as us, but for different markets. They are Dominicans, and if not, they live on the island.
I have lived ten years in the Dominican Republic, coming and going from Italy, while some of my collaborators are permanently on the island. With us, to give an example, it is like a Roman giving an Englishman a tour of Rome and showing glimpses of our capital that the tourist alone would never find. We know the Dominican Republic like the fingers on our hands and that is the main difference between us and everyone else.”
